Can't Dodge the Hodgepodge

It's Hodgepodge Wednesday!!!  Head on over to Joyce's and get the questions, answer them on your blog, and then link up.  Then check out everyone elses's answers and get to know them a little better.

Here is a peek into my head this week:

1. What is something that bothers you if it is not done perfectly?

Oh Nelly...Rich is laughing at this question right now.  I don't think I am bitchy about wanting things a certain way I just do it myself if it isn't done a certain way (hopefully he would agree).  I need my tupperware cabinet to be organized a certain way.  Things in the refridgerator and freezer have a certain spot and they need to be put there.  The dishwasher needs to be loaded in a certain way.

So I guess the answer to this question is just a yes.

2. What is one of your best childhood memories?
Anything involving my grandparents.  Being at their house and doing things with them from playing Bingo to eating popcorn in the driveway on summer evenings.  In general I had a pretty good childhood...with the exception of having crooked glasses on in every single picture.

3. Do you plan to watch the Royal Wedding and when was the last time you wore a hat?
This Royal Wedding coverage is driving me nuts as well as the fact that you could feed a small nation or pay the salaries of a school district for a very long time with the amount they are spending for a one day event.  The last time I wore a hat would be a baseball hat on a sunny day run.  Hats that need to be fitted like (and cost as much) as an entire outfit can stay off of my unworthy head.

4. Where do you fall in the birth order in your family? Do you think this has influenced your personality?
I am the oldest and I am most definately the oldest.  I married an oldest too but I think I act more like the oldest than he does.  So it all works out.  A perfectionist who doesn't like surprises pretty much describes me to a tee. (See #1)

5. Where do you think you spend most of your money?
At the moment the only thing that co mes to mind is TAXES!!!  We live in California so housing is right up there.  But if I had to say one thing that is a luxery it would have to be going out to eat...which we are currently trying to cut back on, however, we are a busy family with lots going on so sometimes it is necessary.  That being said keep in mind I love to cook and am pretty good at it.

6. When you need to confront someone would you rather communicate in person, on the phone, by email or by letter? Why?
I do better when I can organize my thoughts and be articulate so an email is usually the way I go.  I do realize that somethings are better said face to face, but I tend to ramble and I also cry easily so I need to really have my ducks in a row before I confront someone in person.

7. Dodge ball, freeze tag, kickball or jump rope? You have to pick one.
Kickball all the way...I love a competitive sport and a team sport.  I have never been good at dodge ball or freeze tag and in fact the stress level rises in me when I have had to play those types of sports, I just feel that everyone is out to get me and I feel very vulerable and un protected.

8.  In Summary:
It really all boils down to being lucky I found Rich.  He complements (and compliments) me perfectly.  I am crazy obsessive he is easy going and relaxed.  He is a big part of memories from my youth.  We both could care less about the Royal Wedding and in fact our wedding was SO simple and beautiful without all the expense.  He accepts and helps me work through my perfectionist attitude and knows to lay off on April 1st.  We both agree on money matters and he has no problems with confrontation.  As far as dodge ball, freeze tag, kickball or jump rope I would be happy if he had my back in any of those activities.

  1. I cry easily in confrontations too...my emotions just take over. That's why I prefer to confront in writing which I know is not the same but sometimes it truly is a better way to go. Taxes!! You just reminded me I need to go vote today...they want to raise our taxes. Again. I wish I had some tea to throw somewhere : )

  2. I do most things myself for the very same reason you do: nobody does it the way I want it done. It's just easier to do it myself.

  3. I am also an oldest, perfectionist, crybaby who loved every minute with my grandparents (and so happy MY kids get to spend time with them too). Are we twins?
